Venice Biennale 2020

Competition Entry

Project: Venice Biennale 2020
Use: UAE National Pavilion
Year: 2018
Location: Venice, Arsenale
Role: Designer & Visualiser
Stage: Competition Entry

The studio participated in the competition call for designing the nation pavilion of United Arab Emirates in collaboration with Architect and designer Christina Zakharieva. The intention behind the UAE’s national pavilion is to tell the untold stories of the country and share the essence of its culture with the world. The proposed installation symbolises a blurred image, a mirage of the rich future, moulded out of one familiar ingredient: sand. An element of nature which made life challenging for the local population will be melted with hard work, dedication and long-term commitment to wealth, wellbeing and magnificence.
