Project: Disperesed Rainbow
Use: Hotel
Year: 2016
Location: Fictional
Role: Lead Designer & Visualiser
Stage: Concept Design
This proposal chooses to eliminate the need for a lift by removing the provision of stairs as a means of access, and by creating a series of colourful ramps resembling the rainbow. Each ramp suspends between two floors and is in a different colour to help with way finding. Each ramp is planted with a line of specifically chosen flowers to give out a scent which would help the visually impaired orientate themselves. Every ramp’s handrail is scripted with poetry in Braille. Tactile flooring is introduced at every landing with recessed floor lights to illuminate the dedicated area.
